MatCorex is a working reference for materials science and engineering — practical, industry-grounded knowledge on materials, metallurgy, corrosion, testing, and simulation.
Our goal is simple: make rigorous materials engineering knowledge accessible and genuinely useful. Not watered down — but written so students, researchers, and working engineers can actually apply it.
Who it’s for
- Students building solid fundamentals and choosing a direction.
- Researchers who need context, method comparisons, and the reasoning behind the literature.
- Industry engineers making real decisions on alloy selection, characterization, corrosion, and simulation.
What you’ll find
Clear guides, method comparisons, and field notes across six areas: Materials Science, Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering, Materials Testing, Simulation & Software, and Career & Education. This is a growing knowledge base — new articles are added regularly.
About the Founder
MatCorex is founded, edited, and written by Mahdi Alishahi, a materials and metallurgical engineer who holds a BSc in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.
He spent two years in research focused on surface engineering and additive manufacturing, and a year in the automotive parts industry, working with manufacturing and quality standards including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. This mix of academic research and hands-on industry experience shapes how he approaches every topic on MatCorex — practical first, and grounded in how materials actually behave.
After his work and research in materials engineering, Mahdi moved into SEO and web publishing. MatCorex grew from a simple idea: to combine these two skill sets — deep materials knowledge and the ability to make information clear and findable — into one reliable, accessible reference.
He writes about materials science, metallurgy, corrosion, testing, simulation, and the engineering career path, aiming to make rigorous knowledge genuinely useful for students, researchers, and working engineers.
